Week 1
This week, we were briefed about our FYP exhibition showcase. We were put into different departments for the showcase, and I decided to take on a role in the logistics team. My rationale is simple, I don't want to be designing all the time when I already have my FYP to worry about. Doing logistic work is something familiar from past club experiences, and a good change of pace.
We started bouncing ideas around for potential themes. Themes like bold minimalism, Chinese new year and even brat summer came up, but ultimately we decided that brat summer would be over by the time january rolls around, so we referred to the style and aesthetics instead. The design team will be in charge of putting together a moodboard for further discussion the following week. Us logistics team on the other hand, are still missing some members so we'll just focus on building up our own portfolio for now.
Week 2
This week, the design team compiled some moodboards for the class. Many discussions were carried out, and we ended up with a theme very different from our initial idea. While most of us are leaning towards the food deli/diner theme, Dr Luqman disagreed and pointed out it may cause confusion and misdirection for the audience. Which, valid. We ended up with a more vibrant highlighter look and feel, with the name of the name to be decided in the next meeting.

On the logistics end, we started researching potential venues we could have our showcase at. I created a google sheets where we can all list down the potential venues. With many uncertainties and details still to be confirmed, we couldn't exactly make any decisions yet until week 5-ish, but we sought out as many options as possible. With the timing being close to Chinese new year, finding an appropriate venue that fits our budget is going to be a difficult feat.

Week 3
On week 3, we presented to the class on the venues that we have gathered. The class and Dr Luqman seems to be very keen on getting a good mall, and rejected all the "dead" malls. Go big or go home. However, it seemed to be more feasible to rent a space in certain big malls if we do a collaboration with their existing tenant. We were advised to research on potential brand collabs and prepare a pitch deck for potential brand collaborations. Jamie and I later worked to shortlist and filter potential brands.
As we enter week 3, we would also need to start gauging how many people would like to join the exhibition to be able to secure the best venue that accommodates their needs. We prepared an interest check google form for the exhibition.
The other teams had interesting updates as well, from the design team continuing the work on our theme to the marketing pitching fundraising ideas for the exhibition.
